Yummy Easter Bunny!!

This cute little bunny is called Chocolate Bunny and it looks so life like. It makes my crave chocolate every time I use it! He's in the current Summer mini which runs thru till 31 March and is only $16.95 (NZ).
I have kept to Chocolate Chip and Ridinghood Red here with just a touch of Whisper White.
The DSP is the Patterns DSP and its all just Choc Chip and the DSP behind the bunny is Bella Rose and I just sponged white craft ink over it to tone it down. The ribbon is Choc Chip 1" Double Stitched and topped with a flower button from the Button Latte set. I used the crimper on the backing panel. The greeting is from Occasional Greetings and the frame from Frames with a Florish.
This type of card is called a recessed framed card. Its great fun to make and easy to do. I would love to show anyone how to make this card, just contact me to arrange an in home demonstration with you and some friends.
I am lucky enough to be going on holiday this week for 8 days in Melbourne (yes by myself!! hehe). I will be staying with some friends and we will be doing all the great shops! There is a paper craft expo on while I am there so I'm looking forward to seeing what the latest trends and things are happening at the mo. Also I will get to met some of the Australian Stampin' Up! demos who are holding a stand there. If you would like to contact me please leave a message on the comment section on here. I wont be able to check the emails quite the same but I am flying home on Tuesday 9th March so will get back to you then otherwise.

LOVE SQUARED

this is a real FFF! (fun fancy fold) It was shared with me by a fellow New Zealand demo Debbie Lamb (http://debstampinstyle.blogspot.com/) and I call it a spring fold card. The Lovely Letters Alphabet makes it very romantic looking, and the middle sentiment from Whimsical Words just finishes it nicely! You can get Whimsical Words for free with any orders over $120 (excluding postage) during Stampin' Up!'s Sale-a-bration! Contact me at julia.leece@slingshot.co.nz if you would like to know more.
I have used the lovely Elegant Eggplant with Old Olive - one of my favourite combos! Very Vanilla goes so well to as its a bit softer in colour than Whisper White but still has the awesome stamping ability. Rolling the cardstock with the It's Beautiful wheel gives it a lovely look and completes the card.
Thanks for looking.

CHERISH

Here is my second 6"x6" scrap page that I made for my team training this morning. I used Baja Breeze and Chocolate Chip mainly. I have done a lot of layering on this project which all helps to create a frame, bringing your eye to the photo.
The boarder is the Spring Floral from the summer mini catty and it shows really well the mitred corners. The flower is a great project to do for any paper craft project. I got the idea off a challenge site that I belong to called 'Just Add Ink', the link to it is on the right of this blog. I am going to do a project with this flower on my class on Monday 1st March. There will only be an afternoon session this day, and no classes on the 8th March as I will be on holiday in Melbourne!! (can't wait!!)
The 'leaves' are made using the 5 petal punch and then put thru the crimper to give it a different look, and of cause no flower is complete without a bit of bling!!
I decided to bless this project with a photo of my husband and me from our wedding album. I love looking back at the photos as it was over 21 years ago!! My haven't we all changed, esp. both are faces have got 'rounder' (so have our waists but that's a whole different story! lol)
Of cause the word is from Baroque Motifs set, such a MUST HAVE set, from the main Idea Book & Catalogue. If you don't have your own copy contact me to purchase one. I have bounded the spine of all my catalogue so the will stand up to all the late night reading everyone does to them. I have heard of people taking them to bed with them!!
By for now, come back soon!

LoVe To ScRaP

This weekend my upline is doing a training session and we are doing 6"x6" scrap page. This is what I came up with first, although I decided that to cut out all around the word was going to be boring when doing ten of them! lol So I have come up with a different version. I will post that version after tomorrow mornings training (can't have any of my side lines seeing it before the event! hehe)

I did the boarder by masking on a 45o angle to create the mitre. I used the Baroque wheel, I {Heart} Hearts stamps and the Lovely Letters alphabet stamp. The colours are Basic Black, Whisper White and Real Red. Punches were scallop board and Triple Hearts. The white flower is from SU's lovely Pretties Kit.
I have a couple of really cool projects to show you over the next few days so make sure you come back for a visit, and I would love your comments on the projects.

just because I can

this card was just a fun quick card. I had a scrap of watercolour paper and just love this stamp from Wagon Full of Fun so put them together. I used blender pens and ink pads to colour it in. I did some piecing, layered it up, added some bling and its done. I really don't know what you would use this card for but, hey life doesn't need reasons! LOL

Thanks, tomorrow I have a scrapbooking page to share so see you then.

cute cup cake card

THis is made from the Wagon Full of Fun stamp set in the Summer Mini Catalogue. Its a great set with lots of stamps to cover a range of occations. I stamped the cupcake on different card stock and cut each part out. That way you can layer it to give it depth and you can use patterned paper like I have on the cupcake case.

I used Bella Rose DSP, Ridinghood Red card, brads and ribbon, Whisper White ribbon, Dimentionsa, circle punches and glossy white paper.

for my valentine!

This is the card I made my hubby for Valentines Day. Its acetate which is a great base to use. I even embossed a kiss on the inside in it which you can just see. Its not the easiest thing to photograph sorry but my husband of over 21 years said it was really cool! (he had to eh!)

I used Real Red and Basic Black as they are strong colours. The background paper I downloaded from the web, the LOVE brads are some random ones I found in my craft room. I used the SU heart punch for the red heart and the I {Heart} Hearts stamp set from the Summer Mini catalogue which I have stamped on the acetate with the White Stazon ink. Stazon Ink is the best thing to use when stamping on a non paper surface. It dries super quick and so doesn't rub off. Stampin' Up! sell white and black Stazon.

Wishing everyone a very happy Valentines Day XoX

Bella Rose Purse Bag

This is what we are making at class tomorrow. Its so cute. This photo isn't the best as its funny weather here today so couldn't get the colours right on the camera. But these bags could hold anything from chocolates to cards, from booties to bonnets.

I have trimmed the bag with a Kiwi Kiss scalloped edge and Ridinghood Red topper and handles. Topped off with a lovely green sparkly brad.

Contact me on julia.leece@slingshot.co.nz to reserve your place in class for Monday 15th February 12.30-2.30pm or 7.30-9.30pm.

I {Heart} Hearts!!

I'm sure we are all aware that it's Valentines Day on Sunday and the we are seeing red love hearts EVERYWHERE!! SO just so I don't stand out to be different I have a very 'hearty' card to show you. LOL

This is the card I a made for an engagement - I used the I {Heart} Hearts stamp set out of the Summer Mini (aren't there so many cool stamps in it!) I used Bella Rose DSP as a background and Riding Hood Red as the main colour. The two heart punches came in handy too!

Thanks for calling in to my blog. :-)

congrats

I needed to make an engagement card today so I was looking for the right words, this set was in the last SU spring mini so I thought I would give it a try. I also didn't want to do a traditional lovey dovey card so I picked the Washington Apple DSP. Anyway this is what I ended up with which I now think isn't really what I wanted! lol I was thinking it would be a good card for a teenage success, like graduation, exams passing etc. So this one won't be sent to the happy couple! I have then did a more traditional card too and I will post that one tomorrow.

While I was taking the pics in the garden our lovely cat Jerry decided he need to come and see what I was doing. Couldn't resist to take a pic of him to! He is 8 years old this weekend (yes he was born on Valentine's Day) and he's a British Shorthair. He is just lovely!

Good Neighbours

I made this card for a class member of mine. She's the neighbour of a friend of mine so I thought using this Sale-a-bration (SAB) set would be appropriate! It was her 65th birthday and I thought the Vintage Labels set from the SAB to make a sign similar to the road signs. (on an aside one day my hubby and I want to drive Route 66 in the states in a mustang! lol) All the stamps in this set fit into the great SU punches making life so easy!
I did a bit of sponging for the hill and sun. The houses are all stamped on glossy white and coloured with marker pens. I cut them out and layered them a bit just for depth.
You can get your hands on these sets for FREE. Simply buy putting an order of $120 (nz) and or host a workshop with sales over $700 (nz). Isn't that easy!!

Have a look around at some of the wonderful cards being made using this Good Neighbours set. A good place to start is at the 'Just Add Ink' sit - just click on the link on the right.

CLASSES ARE STARTING AGAIN!!!

my first class of the year is tomorrow (Monday 8th) !!

we are going to make pop up cards like the ones I've been showing on here. The first class is 12.30pm-2.30pm and the second 7.30pm-9.30pm. If you haven't already reserved you spot let me know ASAP please. Classes are only $15!!!
There will be some yummy baking of cause too!! lol we made chocolate crackles yesterday - what fun! My fellow crafter, downline and most importantly good friend had a Scooby Doo party yesterday and we had to take Scooby snacks! I will pop a photo of them on here a bit later once I'm out of bed and have down loaded all the pics! (yes I am playing with my laptop in bed on a Sunday morning!)

Meanwhile here is a pic of a quick pop up card I made from Tangerine Tango. This is probably the least used colour out of all the SU In Colours. I really like it! I think it looks great with the rich hue if Pacific Point too. This card I wheeled TT on the card stock first. I have used some of the TT DSP too. It took all of about 10mins to make (might show it too! lol) but its a fun card and would brighten up someones day!

Pretties Kit Card

One of the cool accessories that Stampin' Up! have is the Pretties Kits. This tin is FULL of all the pretty things that any crafter needs. From silk flowers to blingy brads, perfect pearls and even hat pins! The flowers come white so you can colour them up to match any project. You can sponge them with ink from the ink pads (which I did here) to give them a subtle colour. Or you can dip them in a water and reinker mix for really deep colour. Pastels work well as well as the SU markers.
This card had the half pearls and one of the flowers from the kit. A bit of Very Vanilla ribbon, a Very Vanilla grommet and a wee strip of Choc Chip is all it took. I have used the Forever Friends Jumbo wheel with Whisper White craft ink for the stamping. Then finished it all off with a light sponging of Whisper White around the edges just seems to soften it off. Some times less is more!
The actual shape of the pattern on the card is from a sketch challenge on a cool website www.just-add-ink.blogspot.com which you can access thru the link on the right. I have never done a sketch challenge before but its amazing what people come up with. Go and have a look at all the entries to see how one sketch is visualised so differently by some amazing crafters. Why not enter a challenge yourself!
Thanks again.

stars and stripes

Its taken me all day to load this - sorry. This one's a bit different with the flaps on the side. It looks really cool when you pop it out of the base and the sides fly open all by them selves - quite cool!

Thanks again and see you soon. I've got a lovely card (well I think so anyway! hehe) to show you tomorrow so come back and see!

It's Time To Bloom

I have found another fold for cards that I am loving!

I love 3D and cards so to have them in one item just thrills me! (small things I know! hehe)

I made two of these pop up cards today - this is the first one, you will have to come back tomorrow for the second! LOL

I used Old Olive, Choc Chip & Very Vanilla. Friendly Words is the wheel used on the Olive and Bella's Bloom was the stamp set that the flower was from, the sentiment is from On Your Birthday.
The card sits flat for posting etc, and then you pull the tag and it pops out and has its own stand!

The tutorial for this is on Splitcoast Stampers.

Thanks for visiting my blog.

THANKS

These are two cards I sent to two of the girls one my team. These lovely ladies don't live in the same town as me so I can't spend days crafting with them like the other girls so I like to keep them feeling like they are included etc. I thought the words on the new Summer Mini stamp set For Everything were perfect for what I wanted to say. The cards are both simular but different. Again I used my 'favorite of the moment' glossy white paper and sponging to make the background.

Thanks again for looking.

VIVA LAS VEGAS!

This is going along way from the soft and pretty of the last card I posted! I nicknamed it 'Viva Las Vegas' cause it reminded me of that famous city.

It's made with the Designer Series Paper (DSP) is called Kaleidoscope and its from the Summer Mini Catalogue. I have matched it with Pretty in Pink and Tempting Turquoise which are two of the colours in this vibrant paper.

The pinwheel is easy to make using the 1 3/8" square punch. The 'Build a Brad' adds to the card due to the ability to punch out the 1/2" circle pf DSP that goes in it. Aren't all the products the Stampin' Up! have great! I have finished it off with some Dazzling Diamonds.

I got the inspiration for the pinwheel from a magazine. I love looking at crafting mags as you can pick up great tips, designs, inspiration and a lot of admiration for the great card makers and scrapbookers of this world. Stampin' Up!'s Idea Book and Catalogue is just the same, fill of cool ideas on how to get the most out of your supplies. If you haven't got hold of a copy yet, you can view it on line by clicking on the Stampin' Up! logo to the right or by contacting me to purchase a bound hard copy for $14.95 (NZ dollars). julia.leece@slingshot.co.nz
