using the honeycomb embossing folder differently

I made this card the other day after a thought I had in the middle of the night (do you think of things like that in the middle of the night too? lol) of how I could create a different look with the new Honeycomb embossing folder. What I did is I embossed it TWICE. The second time I put it so they crossed over - the white picture below might help show it better. To get the 'block' look I just coloured the resulting diamonds with different colours. The white is our gel pen (love that pen!!) and the others I used Pool Party and Island Indigo. Of cause with the E=MC2 was cut with the Stampin' Up! Big Shot dies. The sentiment is from one of the new Sale-a-bration set Patterened  Occasion.

 Can you see how the hexagonals are crossed over? It's easy peasy to do!!

Pretty Shadow Box

I made this over the last few days using mainly products from the new upcoming Seasonal Catalogue. There are the odd piece of DSP from Fan Fare and the occasional stamp from the Annual Catalogue BUT it is ALL Stampin' Up! and ALL current. I had a BALL putting all this together. I have loaded lots of photos below so you can see all the little bits and bobs. Enjoy!

have a whale of a time!!

Yesterday I had a brown box delivered yesterday morning while I was have breakfast, I just LOVE the sound a Stampin' Up! brown box being placed on my doorstep!!! lol In it it had some lovely products - some were orders for customers and some were for ME!!! One of the new products was a new die called 'Happy Whale' (a sneak peek from the next mini catalogue) - isn't he cute! I decided I HAD to make a card straight away with it, but thought I wanted water ripples and it dawned on me to use the 'woodgrain' embossing folder that what is introduced in the current Holiday Catalogue. I used the new co-ordinates card in Pool Party and I sanded it slightly the sponged the Island Indigo around the 'eye' in the grain and at the top of the strip of card. Then I used a craft knife and cut a slit big enough to fit my cute whale in. I then added some white gel pen lines to help the look of the ripples. The cute little Calypso Coral fishes are also part of the die along with a wee heart, star and the cutest wee anchor you have ever seen!! The sentiment is also heat embossed in a new upcoming product - Pool Party Embossing Powder.

One of the things we are celebrating with this new catalogue is the 25th anniversary of Stampin' Up! All Stampin' Up! demos are receiving this cool wee pin.

Get well soon

Here is more sames of new products coming in the Seasonal Mini. I love this Tea for Two DSP, and it reminded me of a paper piecing quilt so I thought I would make a 'get well card' The cute tiny doily is from the new catty too!! The image of the cup of tea and it's container is also from the Tea for Two DSP. I just thought it made a great image of snuggling under a quilt with a good cuppa and trying to get better .... SO I decided I wanted to make the below pop up tissue box that's featured below. I first saw this on our Stampin' Up! demo only site by Marlo DeVouge who is a Canadian Stampin' Up! demo. Isn't it cute!!!
Have a great weekend - it's a long weekend here in Auckland, New Zealand so I will have the family around for 3 days which is great! Weather looks good too so happy times!!

cross my heart

here is a masculine card I made today using some new products from the upcoming Stampin' Up! Seasonal Mini. It's made using a crossword style stamp so I ran with that. The background was stamped using a current stamp set call Daring Adventure, I think I stamped it like 8 times! lol I did add the non word items on the crossword sentiment with a new set called Itty Bitties (there's 56 images in THAT set!!).
The arrow paper clip is also a new product - bet you CAN'T wait to see all the new stuff!!!!

more Simply Sent cards

These are the last two card's I made using the FREE Sale-a-bration (SAB) Simply Sent card kit - there are still some cards and embellishments left over, you just get so much!!
This one I embossed a strip of Daffodil Delight card with the Lots of Dots and then used the cool little stamp with matching punch for the Baja Breeze embellishment - the stamps and punch are MORE of the SAB FREE STUFF!!!

This last one I turned the card inside out and embossed it, then made a flower embellishment by sticking two of the same size flowers back to back and separating each piece with a dimensional. I added the strip of the grey sticker and a bit of the bakers twine and a jewel on the flower - ALL those come with the Simply Sent set. I matched the envelope up too but did it non dimensionally and used a small circle for the flower center rather than a jewel as I don't think the postie would care for them on the outside of envelopes!! hehe

more variations of the SAB Simply Sent card kit

This one I used the Chevron embossing folder to add a band along the top and to take the Daffodil Delight out of the envelope I cut a matching shape in Whisper White and also embossed it to match the card

I decided I wanted to embrace the Daffodil Delight, the stamp is one of the FREE SAB sets too!

I LOVE FREE stuff!!!

One of the cool products that you can get for FREE during the Sale-a-bration (SAB) which starts TOMORROW (22nd January!) is a pack of everything you need to make 8 cool cards. You get some cards with the "hello!" and some don't. You get everything you need to make the above card (the suggested lay out) including the stickers, bakers twine, jewels AND matching envelopes!
BUT as I love to play I decided to make some other lay outs! So for the next few days I will share them with you!!

This one I decided to have it as a portrait card (not landscape). I stamped a flourish on the Baja Breeze accent printed on the card. Then embossed a strip of Whisper White for the left hand side. I also cut a piece the same shape as the flap on the envelope and embossed it the same as on the card. I then stamped another strip of card (with another SAB FREE stamp set) and trimmed the end to match the card. A few jewels and ta-da it's done!!!

Fashionably cute!

Here is the last of the 3 card's I made with the All Dressed Up dies from the up coming Seasonal Catalogue. I used the cool Fan Fare DSP which is one of my favourites out of the current Annual catalogue. There are 3 dies in the set - the stand, the sleeveless dress and this one. I did put some sponging on this one to give more definition. The sentiment says "happy birthday ... fashionable late..but worth the wait" so I cut the words out that I wanted. You don't have to use all the words of sentiments, just use what you want. You can cut them up like I have here or you can use a marker pen to colour each word and stamp using a Stampin'-ma-jig.
Below is the inside of the card - I have carried through the DSP and the lace.

a bit of Calypso Coral Fashion!!

This is actual the colours and dress the my class made the other day but they used the landscape version from my last post. I love the contrast between the Calypso Coral and the Basic Black and Whisper White. I have been on holiday and had a great time! Hubby still has one more week so crafting hasn't happened - YET! lol
I actually spent the day today tiding my craft room - still a wee bit to go but shouldn't take long to finish - fingers crossed! It's been SO HOT here in Auckland, New Zealand that we are finding it really hard to do much, I kept running from the craft room to the lounge where the only aircon is!! Funny as last year we only turned it on twice to make sure it still worked! lol This year is so much warmer and drier than last year!!!
so hopefully I will have something to show later on in the week - enjoy your week!
