for a junior Dr Who fan!

A few months ago a fellow Stampin' Up! demo showed me some cards she got from a card swap using stamps from this years Sale-a-bration. There was one card that featured the 'tardis' flying thru space using the 'Space' wheel as a background. So this is pretty much a complete case of that card but I can't find who did the swap so I can give due credit!
To make the 'flame' I used the Build a Blossom stamp set and punch. I made this first before I made yesterdays card for my son but decided it was probably better for a younger 'Whovian'! lol
SO if the swap was yours PLEASE let me know so I can give the credit it's due - I didn't even know we had that wheel until I saw the swap! lol Thanks for sharing!

Happy 18th Birthday son xx

I made this for my own son who turned 18 TODAY! wow where did the time go! He's my eldest and only son. I did use the Sale-a-bration stamp set that isn't now available but as a Dr Who fan I will be keeping this one. I hand drew the background and pewter embossed them. I then dry embossed it with the chevron embossing folder to help the feel of the card - if you're into Dr Who, esp the earlier stuff you will appreciate that. I cut two 18's so it looks a bit 3D! You can see below the 'Tardis' is shaped - I also covered it in clear embossing to give it a shiny finish. Son was happy with it and that is all that matters!

Black and White cake????

I must admit I LOVE black and white as a colour combo - although my kids would probably argue that black and white aren't actual colours!!! I have had this hostess set "A Cherry on Top" for ages and just never got around to use it so as I have a HEAP of birthdays over the next few days I pulled it out. I stamped the lid of the cake stand with black Stazon on acetate (window sheets) and it's mounted away from the cake. The cake is stamped on to white card and cut to shape using some patterned stamps - Netting & Summer Silhouettes. I stamped the cake stand with versamark and heat set it with black embossing powder so it gave a nice crisp and shiny look, I did that too for the sentiment. The background is from the Neutrals Paper Stack.

cutlery- bring on the cake!!!!

Nothing is nicer than eating lovely fresh homemade cake on posh plates with the finest cutlery!! I have wanted to use this set for SO long and finally got to use it today. I haven't had a chance to do much paper crafting this week but had a blitz today and yesterday!

I stamped the cutlery stamp 'Silver Setting' (above -127391 $20.95) with Versamark on to Brushed Silver card and then heat embossed it with pewter embossing powder. Then 'carefully' cut around each piece and guessing at what shape the bit under the 'label' part of the stamp. I then tied a bow to cross over that 'gap'.

To make the background I brayered black ink on to the Lacy Brocade embossing folder and then put it thru the Big Shot. Gives a different look and means you can make your own 'background paper'! Now where is that cake?????????

key tags!!!!

aren't these FAB!! I got the idea from Pinterest and it directed me to THIS website where the tutorial is. I used the More Amore fabric from the Seasonal Catty (the one with the big 25 on the front!). You could make these as key rings but I think I will take these to Brisbane South Pacific Stampin' Up! convention next month to personalise my convention bag. Can you imagine 400+ people all with the same bag - you NEED to personalise it so you know which is YOURS! lol
I'm SO looking forward to it - there is still time if you would love to come too - you don't have to be a demo to go but it is cheaper if you are AND we have such a great joining price at mo - you'd be silly not too. For just $189NZ you get over $350 worth of products of YOUR choice!!!! email me NOW julia.leece@vodafone.co.nz

bring on the Pacific Islands!

A bit of the Pacific Islands in autumn! Here is the last of the three versions of this type of card. I decided that the lattice die looked similar to the tapa cloths that the islands are well known for so I use the same colours that are on the tapa cloths. I used the petal punch to make the flower.

Retro thanks

Here is another version of my 'stained glass window' card, this time in Whisper White, Lucky Limeade and So Saffron. I think it gives a very retro look to it. We made these cards yesterday at my at home class and they all used different colours and it was a lovely display of creativeness. Come back tomorrow for another very different version!
