putting emotion into a card

Here is a card I recently made using off cuts from the chevron punch. I wanted to make a card that reflects the emotions involved when someone is having a difficult time. I wanted 'reflection', 'stillness' and 'comfort' and I am pleased with how this turned out. The colours are Whisper White, Basic Black and Primrose Petals, with a dash of Perfectly Plum on the sponged circle.
See you mid next week :)

Vertical Lattice

Here is another version of the lattice card, yesterday's one was my sample, this one was the one I made during the class I taught it at my class. This is all in Cherry Cobbler - just love it!
I'm going down to Christchurch tomorrow morning (early! eek!!) so I probably wont be able post for a few days - I'm not technically apt to preload posts!! Have a great weekend anyways :)

Goodie Goodie Bag

Here is the 'goodie bag' I made for each of my attendees yesterday. Each had them name on them using the tags from the Thankful Tablescape Simply Created Kit.

The first item is the peg tags. There are two with a strip of washi tape and on the back has magnet. The middle one has "enjoy" on the front and "yum yum" on the back - perfect for finishing off a lunch bag! The tag is cut from the Chalk Talk framelits set and added some more washi tape too!

This is a note pad that I made the cover for - a great little design that could transfer to a card easily!

This is a tealight candle that has some more washi tape around it and I stamped on the candle itself. Most of the items (bar the washi tape) are from the Real Red Goodi Gear Simply Created Kit.

These items are from the Thankful Tablescape kit too.

A bit of chocolate using the wonderful Burlap ribbon

SO this is what the bag looked like completed - oh and a few pamper items were added of cause!! lol

Our MERRY CHRISTMAS tag card!

This is the second card we made today at our special Christmas Card class. It started off it's life as part of the Merry Little Christmas Simply Created Card Kit from the Holiday Catalogue (pg27 132158 $19.95 - makes 8 cards plus lined envelopes) but I 'redesigned' it. I added the Real Red embossed card and changed the sentiment to use the new Expressions Thinlits and the Christmas sentiment from A Banner Christmas and of cause I hint of BLING!!
I will share the pics of what was in the goodie bags this week!

Let's take it to the next level!

Here is a similar card to the one I posted the other day but it's been stepped up a wee bit. I LOVE this DSP specialty pack-Winter Frost (132341 $26.95) and of cause ANY card that has the lovely shimmer card just has to be good!! The card base is Coastal Cabana and I've used both that colour and Bermuda Bay for the stamping and sponging. AND even though we have Christmas in the middle of summer down here in New Zealand I still love the look of the Festive Flurry stamps and Framelits for Christmas things.

I still have a couple of places available for my SPECIAL Christmas Class on THIS Sunday at 1.30pm - email me ASAP to put your name down. It will be a GREAT class - 2 projects, goodie bags and spot prizes! julia.leece@vodafone.co.nz

Just Like a Lolly Scramble!!!!

I am LOVING this selection of Christmas Single Stamps that have just been released. You can "pick and mix" to what every selection YOU want - you can be like a KID IN A LOLLY SHOP!
I'm putting an order in on Sunday night so let me know which ones YOU can't do without!!!
Size wise - this pic is as wide as our A4 card (I have cut some off the top and bottom) so they are a good size - I HAVE to have THAT STAR!!!
Pick one or all of them!!! If you want all of them ($123.70 plus postage) I will throw in a packet of our high quailty envelopes, which are GREAT for stamping on, for FREE!!!
Don't forget you can get started on your Christmas Cards with my SPECIAL class this Sunday - see the event for details!

super snowflake swings

This is a card I designed after seeing all the flip cards out at the mo. We don't have the flash dies down here in New Zealand that all the others are using so I came up with the best alternative using the snow flake die. I am teaching this exact card on this Sunday at my SPECIAL CHRISTMAS CATALOGUE class - if you would like to attend email me ASAP (julia.leece@vodafone.co.nz) as I have very limited seats! It's a special one with goodie (really goodie!) bags, spot prizes etc and a lovely afternoon tea.

an ice cream container on a card????

Yes that is a tiny container of New Zealand's premium ice cream Tip Top's Hokey Pokey!
One of our supermarkets are giving away mini food containers and this is one of the few I have. I knew as soon as I saw them I wanted to use them on my cards! So hence this card - which was put together VERY quick. Just a bit of DSP to look like a table cloth, some bakers twine and a sentiment and it's done!!
Now how am I going to put a little bag of frozen peas on a card????

water colouring wishes

Here is the last of the 3 styles I have made using this great stamp set. This one is just coloured in with an aqua pen using ink squeezed onto the top of the stamp pad. It's another great way to make your own patterened paper in the colours you want. Again I gold embossed the pearls to make them gleam!

Joyful Christmas Wishes Continue

Here is the 'other' card we made last week at class. We created our own DSP by stamping out on a sheet of Very Vanilla card stock. We sponged all the edges with Old Olive (always feels like an old friend comes to visit when I get out this colour!) and then sponged the 'inners' of the poinsettias. Lots of layering with Real Red and it's done. We made sure we matched the inside too - it was great using nearly all of the stamp set again for this card.

I wanted to show you this card below, this is the one I actually made during the class. When I was stamping one of the flowers I 'splattered' some red ink on the card SO rather than throwing it all out I 'created' more dots around the card to make it look like they were 'supposed' to be there!! hee hee I always say "there is no such thing as a mistake in crafting, just a creative difference!" !!!!

Poinsettia Christmas Wishes

This is one of the two cards we made at classes this week. It's using the new stamp set called Joyful Christmas from the Holiday catalogue (pg 27). I just LOVE this set. I heat embossed it in gold on Real Red. I stamped it twice to get the two layers and then stamped the leaf stamp on Always Artichoke and again the sentiment in gold too. I used dimensionals between each layer and I also embossed the Pearls in gold too. The matching layering of Always Artichoke, Real Red, Brushed Gold and Very Vanilla also helps to give this card the richness that it has. Inside it matches with the layering too, we also used the fourth stamp as the sentiment inside. It's lovely to use all the stamps in the set on one card! Great value for $NZ37.95 clear mount and $NZ47.94 in wood.

I have done a few more cards using the same set  to show you aswell - so keep visiting my blog!

Camera Mad Father's Day Card

this is the quick card I made for my father-in-law. He is a MAD keen photographer so I loved being able to use this cool paper from the I Am Me and the matching stamp set called Around The World. I used the Brushed Silver card again for this but cut it 'portrait' style inside of hubby's card that was cut 'landscape'. It was a VERY easy and quick card, a handy style for those URGENT cards you need but it still has some impact. The camera's are heat embossed in black so they are nice and shiny and then popped out with dimensionals to give it a 3D effect.
We had a lovely dinner last night with them which was a lovely way to end a neat Father's Day!
