HAPPY EASTER!!!

Happy Easter

These delightful boxes (which is your favourite?) are made using the Pop'n Cuts Big Shot die from Stampin' Up! This idea I found by Tanya Bell on our Stampin' Up! demo only site Stampin' Connections. That site is one the biggest perks of being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator, the 'sisterhood' (there are blokes there too but in general they're mainly woman), the support, the info and the nearly 300,000 samples is AWESOME!!!
I used the cute Birds of a Feather DSP on these boxes, the two sheets with eggs all over it were PERFECT for any Easter project. I made these for some family members and there is one for a lovely lady who's coming to house sit our place while we are away over the long weekend. The main reason she's coming is to keep this furry fellow company!!

YES it is FINALLY here in New Zealand!! This is a digital design studio which you can use for online graphics, digital scrapbooking and card making or even just a place to design your papercrafting and then recreate in real life - no mistakes made and crafting supplies wasted!! You can purchase the full version for ONLY $27.95 (item 130646). But if you're not 100% about it you can down load a FREE 1 month trial too!!! You can purchase the full version or use the free trial via my online shop HERE - please not that both items are downloads not a physical disc so you need to ensure you have the internet speed and computer space as noted when you go to the shop.

Here is the project that Dee Sturgeon taught us on Monday night on Crafters Anonymous. It's a cute as little album. The two parts under the ribbon in the below photo open out accordion style where you can put photos etc. Be a great brag book!! This is a great project for a class so if you would like to learn how to make it contact me to arrange a class for you and a few of your friends. julia.leece@vodafone.co.nz

Meanwhile here is a pic for you today. This is a version of the one we did at my team training on Saturday. I got the colour scheme from the ever faithful Colour Coach - I would never of thought of putting Old Olive, Raspberry Ripple and Pink Pirouette together!! I used the Cut and Pop card base to make the outside and the inside part which 'pops up'. Inside is a gift box and the lid comes off to reveal a gift card!  This die is going to have so many uses!!!

pretty in pink (well primrose petals actually! lol)

This is a card I demonstrated at my workshop on Tuesday night. I cut a large doily using the lovely Stampin' Up! die. I then made up a spritz using the empty spritzer containers that we sell. You add rubbing alcohol, a few drops of reinker and to get a lovely pearly look I add a few drops of shimmer paint - this one I used Frost White.
It's a little hard to show the sparkle on the photo but it's there! lol Just a bit of scraps of card and a sentiment and you're done!
Today is the VERY LAST day of Sale-a-bration - I can't believe how quick the last 2 months has gone! It's Easter next week - where did this year go???? So PLEASE contact me today by 4pm to place your last order to benefit from the wonderful FREE products - you don't want to be this person!!!

Poppies Standing Tall

I have been wanting to do more pop up cards using the new Stampin' Up! Pop-n-cuts die. I started by stamping on the acetate with white stazon and then coloured on the BACK of the acetate with white stazon ink coloured with normal reinker - I used Primrose Petals and Old Olive. Just used an empty embossing powder container to mix in. You don't need much! I did try and speed up the drying process by using the lower setting on the heat tool but it did still start to 'bend and bow' the acetate. It would take about 30 mins or so to dry and you have to be careful not to scratch it as it will scratch off the acetate. Below is the simple front of the card - it's important to balance the fancy inside with the front. This stamp is an a la carte stamp that you can layer it up and carry the texture from the stamp to the backing using the embossing folder.

Happy Raspberry Ripple!

This is the card I sent to two of my downline who celebrated their birthdays in March - on the same day too!. I used the Natural Composition Specialty Designer Series Paper as the card base. This card stock has images in clear embossing powder already on them. I sponged around the edges of this heavy wight paper in Raspberry Ripple which softens the look of the card and brings out the pattern more. Added then the embellishments including the stitched Raspberry ribbon. I used the Crumb Cake envelopes that Stampin' Up! sell which helps to make the set look 'combined', you do need to cut your card stock to fit the envelope as it is based on the American card size not our A5 size. It's only a fraction shorter but best to do at the start of making the card rather than after you have completed it - if I had done that the ribbon would of needed to be cut and that would of been sad! lol
I also sponged around this envelope and stamped a flourish on it from Creative Elements to match the flourishes on the card. The sentiment is the single stamp 'Beautiful Birthday' - a great stamp for just $14.95NZ!!!

twist and turn!!!

Last night our guest tutor Deb Speijers taught us this twisted card. I have seen these around  and wanted to make one for a while - one of my team -Angela Palmer- has made many too!! I used the More Amore specialty DSP for it with the colours - Primrose Petals, Pool Party and Very Vanilla. You can use the pockets for a gift card or a gift tag like I have.

don't forget that Sale-A-Bration ends this week - contact me TODAY to make the most of this - our best promotion of the year!!! julia.leece@vodafone.co.nz

simple style but has a WOW!!!

this is ANOTHER of these flip back cards - this one is pretty girly but again it is a very simple card - it's just what you 'stick on it' that makes it look complicated! I love using the textured Co-ordination card - this is Primrose Petals. It makes the lace embossing stand out. The flowers were coloured directly on the stamp using Stampin' Markers. Always start with the lightest colour so you don't ruin your marker pen tips. The bow is a bit embarrassing as I realise AFTER I took photos that I hadn't 'opened' up the left side of it - whoops! hehe The DSP is just strips from the More Amore Specialty DSP. The colours are Pool Party, Very Vanilla, Primrose Petals and I added Pink Pirouette too!

THANKS so much

here is another of the flip back cards - this is a very simple one with just a bit of DSP, some ribbon and a bit of embossing on the Big Shot. I've just stamped directly on to the DSP to add some more colour and a bit of sponging around the edges. The colours are Pool Party and Primrose Petals. I used the Co-ordination Pool Party card and sanded it after I embossed it on the Big Shot to reveal the lighter colour inside and make the embossing stand out more.

Happy Hour!!!

Here is another gift card holder in a card - I've called these cards 'Back Flip' cards just cause the 'front part' flicks back! simple idea I thought! lol This one is using the cool Happy Hour stamp set. I coloured the drinks with Stampin' Up! marker pens so I can get the 'glass' a different colour to the 'drink'. You can also add depth and shading this way too. I've then fussy cut (i.e. cut by hand) around each one and popped a dimensional behind it. It's quite a simple idea and easy to mix it up to change what ever you are wanting use! I used Primrose Petals card stock and DSP from the In Colour paper stacks.

I'm teaching this card to a class tomorrow night so will look forward to seeing what variations they do to it. Thanks for stopping by!

word gap card

I made this card for a friend of mine who's birthday is this month. I love making these word gap cards. I used the Primrose Petals co-ordination card stock which where you dry emboss it you can sand it and the other colour shows thru - as you can see on the lace embossing along the bottom of the card. The actual card is 21cm wide so the embossing folder doesn't actually go that length - I had to join two pieces together and I 'hid' the join under the bow!! Ribbon is fantastic for this type of things! lol It also covers the join of the embossed lace part to the card too!
I'm teaching this style of card on Friday night at one of my classes - we are doing "HAPPY" as the word and then you can add 'birthday', 'wedding day', 'easter', 'fathers/mothers day' etc LOTS of choices!
Have a great day!!!
