Stars For Christmas

I saw a cool card on Pinterest HERE and thought I NEEDED to make a Stampin' Up! version, and so I did lol! And then I decided I wanted to do it in different colours - so I did! hee hee Different embossing folders and ribbon and I was set! The ladies at my class today enjoyed making these. Looks like a hard card but it's fairly quick to make. Thanks for visiting :)

Background Bliss

Firstly - so sorry it's been ages since my last post - we've had school holidays, a family funeral and other yucky stuff and I've just not had much crafting time. Things are getting back to normal (ish) now and I got to spend  half a day playing in my craft room and will be sharing these cards over the next few days.
To start the ball rolling I am showing you a version of the last technique I shared. This is the alcohol marker pen marbling one. What I did was stamp some stars in white ink and some in versamark which I heat embossed with red embossing powder. I then chopped it up and just randomly put them on some card. Added a few bits of bling which I coloured with Blendibilities. I just LOVE the word dies as part of the Wonderful Wreath Framelits Dies

by themselves they are $51.95 or team them up with the Wondrous Wreath Stamp Set and you can save on the bundle for only $90.75

splatery squish!!!

That's the best way I know how to discribes this cool technique. It uses our Stampin' Up! Blendabilities, a plastic bag and some rubbing alcohol! The technique was on Splitcoaststampers email this week. It's lots of fun and creates such AMAZING effects. These are the cards the my ladies made at this afternoon and as you can see they are ALL different! AND they are fairly quick. We used photo paper to create them.

Using Up Those Scraps

This afternoon I had an had a few moments to play in my craft room and decided I needed to do something with all the little bits I had left over after prepping for a class using the Trim The Trees DSP stack. I started with some plain Whisper White card bases and just played - it was FUN!! The card about I used a layout by the ever so talented Amy O'Neill but the others are all my own designs. Some people think I'm mad keeping all those little bits but hey - they made me 4 cards today AND I didn't have to cut any of them, just shaped them.

Thinking of YOU at Christmas

Another card using my much loved Kraft card and white chalk pen! I used the cute Photopolymer stamp set called White Christmas - I just stamped the trees a few times. One of the cool things about Photopolymer stamps is that you can 'bend' them so I was able to change the curve of the hill with the trees on it :).I did use my white gel pen on the snow falling as the tip of the chalk pen didn't have a small enough tip.

Keep a look out for tomorrow's Weekly Specials - I'm putting in an order tomorrow night so let me know ASAP.
See you tomorrow :)

a Krafty Santa!

I REALLY love the look of Kraft card with black and white so when I Googled Stached Santa I found Amy O'Neill's card HERE I just HAD to CASE it - I love this Santa's super duper mustache and using our mustache die to cut him out. Then I wondered how our Blendie's would go directly on to the Kraft card and was really impressed at the depth of colour so below is another card doing just that. I used our white chalk pen for the white on the card. :)

Steampunk!

Tomorrow we are lucky to have a great 'Party Time' training put on by Stampin' Up! for us New Zealand demos. So part of what we are supposed to do is make a name badge (for a competition) and share a sample for a display board. So I decided to go Steampunk! Everything on these two samples are 100% Stampin' Up! - I just used lots of punches and dies and the two different styles of metalic card stock we have - both the brushed and unbrushed ones. I used the Encore gold and silver inkpads along with black stazon and clear embossing powder to set them. I'm really pleased how they came out with the buttons, paperclips and buttons too.

Stripes of Butterflies!

Today is my friend's birthday and I took her out for lunch yesterday -  we're both Gluten Freers so we tried a new Paelo cafe in Ponsonby (food nice - not a fan of their organic decafe mocha!) and so I made this card. I got the design completely from Pinterest HERE but I changed the colours etc. It's quite a simple card but a card with lots of impact.
so HAPPY Birthday Heather xx

Merry Merry Merry....Christmas!

I just fell in love with the new stamp set Seasonally Scattered -page 43 of the new Holiday Catalogue. I just love how some heat embossing can turn it into a really elegant card! The top one I just heat embossed it with clear embossing powder and sponged over it over with Lost Lagoon and added a few diamantes. The next one is heat embossed with Iridescence which has a sparkle to it and I added a layer of Dazzling Diamond glitter cardstock and sponged with Night of Navy. The last one is just plain gold embossed mixed with gold card stock and Real Red - so traditional and so stylish! You don't always HAVE to have 'Christmas' with the 'MERRY' - I only did on two of the three.
If you have a HEAP of cards to make - this style is a great way to go. The other words in the set are LOVE and THANKS. Only $37.95 in clear mount and $51.95 in wood. email me julia.leece@vodafone.co.nz

Holiday Home Collection

One of my favourite stamp sets in the Holiday catalogue is the Holiday Home set. I have had a wee play and came up with a few samples. Above is two Christmas ones, I decided not to put a sentiment on the first one, a card doesn't NEED a sentiment everytime, I think it's pretty obvious what the card is about. I used a 3 masks to achieve the layered effect, then coloured them in with Blendabilities. The second one I just used the blendies again but to add bits of colour.

I LOVE using Kraft - this is more 'flecky' than Crumb Cake card stock and goes so well with black and white. I used both the white gel pen and the chalk board marker.

This one I used a brayer to get the colour on the background and Blendies for the house. The moon was created with a punched hole and a bit of sponging. You can see how much fun this set it to use! Love it!
