CHEERS!!

I am still loving these market or canopy cards. Here's a great one for a man. I used Soft Suede and Almost Artichoke which was the first time I have used that combination! lol

The beer mugs are from the Cheers to You set, the frame is from Frames with a Flourish. The word 'cheers' is made by using the 'cherish' word stamp from Baroque Motifs - I inked the letters using a Stampin' Write marker pen starting with the first three letters and then using a Stampin'-ma-jig added the next 'er' then finally the 's'!

The ribbon is the non spotty side of the Soft Suede ribbon out of the Autumn-Winter mini catalogue and the brads are from the Antique collection.

The puffy frothy on the beer is a product that puffs up when heated with a heat tool. It's not a Stampin' Up! product but it just NEEDED to be used! lol

It's great to have a masculine card in my stash - ready for the next birthday!

Just Add Ink #24

Over at the Just Add Ink site (click on the blinkie on the right) there is a cool sketch that is this weeks challenge. So I thought I would kill two stones today - I would enter the challenge and also make a card for my daughters 13th birthday which is on Thursday.

I wanted a card that said something a bit special as she leaves her childhood behind and enters teenagedom! Originally I was going to give her the Always Chocolate Chip and Baja Breeze card I made the other day as it says 'Always on my mind, forever in my heart' which is what my children are, but then I wanted something not so somber so I went with the words from the Birthday stamp set that says 'LIVE, LAUGH & LOVE' which is really what every parent would want for their child.

I stamped my favourite Medallion stamp with Pink Pirouette on to Kraft (soon to be called Cookie Crumb) then stamped the words in Regal Rose on Pink Pirouette and cut them out. Added the button with linen thread and layered it on Pink Pirouette and Kraft again. I hope she likes it! In real life the pink is brighter than the photo, I don't know what the weather is like where you are but in Auckland, New Zealand today is very dull so taking photos is a bit difficult. Esp. at 8am in the morning !! lol

Punch Art Fun

One of the sites that I visit often is Swap Sisters - just click on the Swap Sister 'blinkie' on the right to go to their site. Once a week we had a punch art class on line. This is where using the chat function we get taught to make a project. We never know to start with what we are about to create - just a list of what supplies to have on hand for the class.

Well last week we created these lovely two! Ain't they the cutest!! Who wouldn't love Teddy Bears dressed up as Micky and Mini Mouse!!! lol I love how we created the bow in the girl Teddy with two tiny hearts and a small circle. To do the detail on the eyes and nose I just used the white gel pen that Stampin' Up! sell. Such a neat pen!!

BLOG SURFING!!!!

one thing I really love to do is looking at other peoples blogs. There are soooo many talented people in the world of paper crafts. I enjoy looking at blogs from all over the world and have made friends with these creative people thru cyber space. Unfortunately at the moment I can't seem to get to some of the blogs that I follow, I don't know why this is happening but I just wanted to let you know that I am not being rude if I don't leave a comment, basically I just can't get to it!!
I will get my teenage son to see if he can work out why - isn't it handy having one of those at home! lol Speaking if which last night my son's rock band had a gig, it was the first one for the 3 new band members although Aaron has done a few before. He even invited his 'little sister' on to the stage to sing one of the songs. The band writes all their own music and Kelly often writes their lyrics which is pretty good as they are all under 16! I was a very proud mum that's for sure. I will post a pic later today - so you know who will be rocking the music charts in a few years!! lol look out for "THE THIRD SYSTEM"!!!!

Always on my mind

I love Baja Breeze and Chocolate Chip together!!

I don't know why they go so well together but they just do!!

All the stamped images on this card are from the set Always. I stamped the image in versamark first then onto the coloured ink, so after I stamped it I covered it in clear embossing powder and heat set it. It just seems to give it some more depth. I did a bit of sponging with the Baja Breeze.
The top of the card is embossed with the Big Shot Lots of Dots embossing folder. A bit of Chocolate Chip DSP, a big Chocolate Chip bow and it's all done!
The sentiment says - Always in my mind, forever in my Heart - which is such a lovely statement. I did originally start to make this card for my daughter who turns 13 this week but she saw me making it so I will have to sneak in and make another card for her - but the sentiment would still be the same! :)

A Rose for You

who doesn't love getting roses????

I am sure you are like me and LOVE getting roses! This set called 'A Rose is a Rose' is one of the sets that Stampin' Up! has on special at the moment. Isn't it beautiful - it's so easy to get the depth of colour as shown here.

On Whisper White I stamped the base colour - Regal Rose - then the out line stamp I stamped in Versamark then in Rose Red. Using my Stampin'-ma-gig I stamped it over the base. Then I quickly covered it with clear embossing powder and heated it with the Heat Tool. While it was still hot I dipped it in the clear embossing powder again and reheated it. This just gives it a greater gloss. I did this for the leaf too. I used Old Olive and Kiwi Kiss for the leaf. The background DSP is one from Bella's Rose and the card is based on Kiwi Kiss. The sentiment is from the Hostess Set Sweet Little Sentiments. I stamped it and then cut each word out separately. I did some sponging around the DSP and I put it thru the Lot of Dots Big Shot embossing folder.
